Harper Lee - I hear people say she only ever wrote one book in her lifetime, but she was a prolific writer of short stories, published in magazines and on radio. She wrote for her people, friends and family and community, and it was a family member (maybe a cousin) who talked her into writing the novel based on one of her stories.
