Re: Closure of the forum

Hi again,

That's good news Rachel that the forum will continue!

Attracting newbies can't be done from within the forum; it takes a LOT of effort and time doing other things, which I've documented elsewhere.

Perhaps he could also publish this as well, and maybe you could share out some of the tasks with the moderators, or maybe current members could volunteer to take some of them on.

Sorry to post again so soon, but myself, Enzed and Josilver asked what was the negative feedback that was said to be being recieved?

Is it from Forum members?
Is it directed to any perticular person or person/s on the forum?
If it is negative regarding the forum as a whole then perhaps the members can help turn it to a positive if they are informed.

Often exposure and letting a little light into this type of thing can have a curative effect!

You will all notice I am now just back to a normal, regular member. Don't expect me around any more much.

Even though I'm not a writer any more, let me tell you a little story. (Then you'll probably see why I'm not a writer any more!)

About six months ago, when I was AWF's sole administrator, I announced that I wanted to wind back my activity here and asked if anyone was interested in taking over the reins. Many other members said that they wanted the forum to continue, but that taking on extra responsibilies here was too time-consuming or difficult. I feel a strong sense of deja vu in this thread.

There was one exception (initially): PGB. (RkCapps pitched in subsequently, to run the financial side of things.) If it wasn't for PGB, the forum would have disappeared last year.

Those who wish the forum to continue should be grateful for PGB's willingness to take responsibility when he did. Can I presumptuously say, on everyone's behalf, "Thanks Paul"?

Not presumptuous at all. We have probably not been as vocal in our appreciation of Paul and Rachel as we should have been.

Thank you for all your work in keeping the forum running.

There are a few of us who have volunteered to pitch in and help (many hands...), so if you're feeling overburdened don't hesitate to ask.

I certainly feel that PGB has been the glue that held the forum together so I echo Peter's sentiments. Thanks, Paul!

Thanks all. Just time for me to call it quits and focus on my REAL passions, plus child number 2 is only days away...
