I have a vague suspicion that Microsoft email servers (eg, hotmail and outlook.com) may be treating at least some of this forum's emails as spam. If you have a hotmail or outlook.com email address, I'd appreciate it if you'd allow me to send you an email from the forum's server. This would help to verify my theory.
PM me if you'd rather keep your email address out of the public eye (which I'd recommend).
Thanks!

Re: Email Problems?
I don't use hotmail but manage my employers email server so am happy to assist if I can.

Re: Email Problems?
Thanks Paul. My concern is that AWF is on shared hosting (with VentraIP), and if any one of the other email accounts on the same server gets sprung for sending spam, mobs like Microsoft will simply blacklist the IP and hence all other email addresses using the same server. All of my tests and investigations have indicated that this isn't happening with AWF emails, and yet a lot of people register to join but never respond to the activation email, and it might also explain why things have been quieter this year.

Re: Email Problems?
The norm is not to get any emails, except for registration activation, notifications of posts made to topics you've subscribed to, and private messages sent to you.

Re: Email Problems?
I have noticed with the number of PM's I have been getting, I am only getting an email alert for about 1/4 of them?

Interesting. I think the system may not send emails for PMs if it's already sent one such message (for a previous PM) and you haven't looked at your PMs in the meantime. The rationale is that you'll see all the new PMs when you look for the one it emailed you about. It works like this for topic notifications. Could this be the issue? If not, there's something flaky going on.

Re: Email Problems?
Yeah that could be it. I got an email about one PM which I replied to and then nothing else since.
