The cover, title and blurb should be good enough to get your reader to open the book and read it, but these are not the things that make a reader go to your next book.
The ending does that.

The best ending for the story is the one that ensures the reader felt so strongly about it, they put your name on the 'auto-buy' list.

Don't skimp the ending.
