Good ideas there. The 100% Perfect character is a snooze-bucket. The Too Dumb To Live character contributes to a DNF.

Ways to solve this? Give your Perfect character a flaw - he's a drunk, or a womaniser, or addicted to cigarettes. Something.

Redeem your Dumb character by making him likeable (as in Merry and Pippin from LOTR, who then become Adorkables). Or maybe he's handsome, or rich, or a great singer, dancer, lover - whatever! Or maybe - you know - maybe he doesn't have to be so stupid. There's an idea, no? ;)
