Peter,
I used to herd the cows in to the dairy as a kid and I can recall the expression, "like herding cats", being used all those years ago when the herd would not behave themselves, plus a few other choice expressions.
Hopefully Paul will not have to go beyond "herding cats" to describe us.

Hardly. Herding cats is a well-known idiom denoting a futile attempt to control or organize a class of entities which are uncontrollable or chaotic. EDS didn't make it up. 
Having said that, that's a great commercial. I was laughing all the way through. Best bit was the cowboy using a lint brush to remove cat hair from his vest.
