Re: Romance? Sex? or Love? The scenes that matter

This is excellent. The hardest thing is describing / conveying connections between characters.

It doesn't matter what the genre is. What a good find CageSage, thanks for posting.

It's the best explanation I've ever read.

Re: What to do when it's not happening

How does that sound? The first question with the proposed story is: whose story is this? The answer makes it easier to shape the story to suit the events and progression. having said that, there's always a new way to look at what happens in a world that not many people know much about -- which is w...

Re: What to do when it's not happening

You've got oodles of material Rath. I don't see why you can't reformat the plot into a novel. Novels sell. Perhaps chuck in a murder - or attempted murder, by an insanely jealous / stalker type - male or female who 'followed' her on Twitterer or Facebook, and then followed her in person - and you've...

Re: Ever considered doing a short story collection?

Yes - yes, yes, yes. :) In fact, I've been spending the last two or three weeks getting back to what I've been doing before I started taking novels seriously (in the last 2-3 years), which is writing short stories. I wrote three shorts in one day alone. That should tell you how much practice I got ...

Re: How to Use Brand Names in Your Fiction

I used real names of some businesses entities in my novel, but only where it was flattering to them, or at least not harmful. That made it very unlikely they would object should it ever come to their attention. Where the situation was not flattering, I changed the name and location of an actual busi...

I completed the survey and returned it.

Rath, there are questions you could answer such as your views on using an agent.
