Re: Change to sign up process

I wasn't suggesting that there was any kind of emergency at this time of year for IT help. Just that it may be a good thing overall if you had a backup, or more or this type of assistance to share the load with. I know Peter does come on board and helps sort things out when needed and he has done th...

Re: Change to sign up process

I understand Rachel, I'm just concerned that a only short time ago it seemed that encouraging new members to join was the biggest hassle the Forum faced, and now there are new regulations going to be enforced that may make a tentative new member decide its not really worth joining. I'm just not sure...

Re: Change to sign up process

Rachel, it just seems like another negative knee-jerk reaction to place this restriction on all new members just because we had one person who enrolled who hassled PGB. I could understand the concept of a vetting process where new members details were checked, but I fail to see the benefit of demand...

Re: Change to sign up process

This doesn't seem to give new members many more options than visiting as a guest.

Will this really enthuse people to join the forum?

What happened to the area where members recently published work was noted?
Has this been deleted now as of no longer of interest?

Re: Member Removed

PGB, I am aware that no one forced me to become a member of this Forum, I elected to join, because it seemed at that time a harmonious well-run group of writers assisting each other run by competent administrators and moderators. I guess what I attempted to express is that you appear to have taken a...

Re: Member Removed

Hi, thank you to all who have responded to my concerns over the manner of placing a ban on one of the Forum's members. I'll try to answer some of the points that have been made in the posts. One further point I would like to make is that surely the very basis of any Forum is for there to be discussi...

Re: Member Removed

I am still not happy with the way in which this action was taken. PGB states, A lot more to this than what you (and other members) know about Personally I feel that as most members of this Forum seem to be adults then why do we need to be 'protected from the details' ' Surely if an action like this ...

Re: Member Removed

I don't understand how warnings in the past relate to this incident or the member who has been removed. Why didn't we see any warning posts on the forum to Imunch? You list Rule number 8. Forum administrators may deny any member access to this site at any time, should Did the administrators (plural)...

Re: Member Removed

That seems remarkably draconian, after just a few comments. Surely Imunch's comments could have been in jest and just to see what the reactions were. Perhaps she/he thought some of the posts were a little too precious! Isn't there some kind of procedure for this type of action, or do people just get...
